The church of the Lord Jesus Christ has been persecuted. Why? Because God is true and the devil is a lie. There is one Gospel to enter in the kingdom of God. The devil knows the truth that is how he changes the words to deceive the world.
Genesis Chapter 3 verses 1-16
verse 2: and the woman said unto the serpent we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden
verse 3: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it lest ye die.
verse 4: and the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die.
Seekers, who will you believe, God or the devil? Eve believed the serpent and death came on all of the world. Truth! Seekers when Jesus came to save our souls the devil was there to deceive the Jews, Pharisees and Sadducees, Chief priest and the scribes, high priest to do the work of the serpent to persecute the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil, serpent he knows the truth he knows hell was made for him and his angels and when he told Eve she would not die he was there to deceive her. He knows the truth, he persecuted the apostles because he knew the truth and killed as many who would believe the truth of God's word.
Jesus is the way and the truth, the devil is the way to hell. The power of the devil is political and religion power. Seekers the following scriptures of persecution of the church.
Acts 4 verse 17: let us straightly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
Acts 5 verses 17-19
verse 17: Then the high priest rose up and all they that were with him which is the seat of the sadducees and were filled with indignation.
verse 18: and laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison, Stephen
Acts Chapter 7 verses 1-60 read.
Stephen was falsely accused and stoned to death. Peter was cast in prison for preaching the truth. Paul (acts 19 verse 24) was persecuted by Demetrius a silversmith which made silver shrines for Diana because of his craft.
2nd Corinthians chapter 11 verses 24-25
Paul said of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one,
verse 25: Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck , a night and a day I have been in the dep.
Paul was condemned by the emperor Nero and was beheaded with the sword at the third milestone on the osiaway his execution probably occurred in Ad67. Peter died as a martyr in Rome under Nero in Ad 64 or 65. Tradition holds that Peter was crucified upside down because he felt unworthy to die in the same manner as Jesus. James was martyrdom Ad 66.
All of these men were killed because of the truth. Seekers the true gospel the truth of God's word will never die it is to be preached to all nations and the end will come. Seekers where will you stand on that day? On the rock or the sand?
