Baptism

Matthew Chapter 3 verse 13:  Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
verse 14:  But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
verse 15:  and Jesus answering said unto him, suffer it to be so now:  for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.  Then he suffered him.
verse 16:  and Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straight way out of the water; and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him.
verse 17:  and lo a voice from heaven, saying, this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.

Seekers this message is to follow the word of God about Baptism.  Let the word of God be our guide to salvation.

Mark Chapter 16 verse 15:  and he said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
verse 16:  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Matthew 28 verses 18-19
verse 18:  and Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
verse 19:  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
verse 20:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.

Seekers note Jesus said baptizing in the name.  Father is not a name it is a title, Son is not a name, it is a title, The holy Ghost is not a name it is the spirit of God not a name.  Let us find the name.

John Chapter 5 verse 43:  Jesus said I come in my fathers name.  So Jesus is the name of the father and the son and the Holy Ghost.

Acts Chapter 4 verse 12:  Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. 

Seekers if you are baptized in the titles you are deceived.  The name is Jesus. 

Acts 2 verse 38:  Then Peter said unto them repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Mark  Chapter 1 verse 4:  John did baptize in the wilderness, and preached the baptism of repentance for the remission of sin. 

Seeker you can not be saved without repentance, and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.  That is the truth.

Romans Chapter 6 verse 3:  Paul the Apostle know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 
verse 4:  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:  that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father we also should walk in newness of life.

Seekers note you bury the old man and the new is to walk in newness of life you are then born again.

Peter Chapter 3 verse 21:  The like figure where unto even baptism doth also now save us not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an anwer of a good conscience toward God by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Acts Chapter 16 read verses 25-33
verse 33:  and he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and was baptized, he and all his straight way.

Ephesians Chapter 4 verse 5:  One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.
verse 6:  One God and father of who is above all and through all and in you all.

Corinthians Chapter 12 verse 13:  For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be bond or free:  and have been all made to drink into one spirit.

Galations Chapter 3 verses 26-27
verse 26:  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
verse 27:  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Acts Chapter 22 Ananias baptized apostle Paul.
verses 14-16
verse 14:  And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou should know his will and see that just one, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
verse 15:  For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou has seen and heard.
verse 16:  And now why tarriest thou?  Arise, and be baptized and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts Chapter 8 verses 26-28
verse 26:   And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying arise and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza which is desert.
verse 27:  and he arose and went:  and behold a man of Ethiopia and eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of Ethiopians who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem to worship.
verse 28:  Was returning and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
verse 29:  Then the spirit said unto Philip go near, and join thy self to this chariot.
verse 30:  and Philip ran thither to him and heard him read the prophet Esaias and said understandest thou what thou readest?
verse 31:  and he said, How can I except some man should guide me?  and he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
verse 32:  The place of the scripture which he read was this, he was led as a sheep to slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer so opened he not his mouth.
verse 33:  In his humiliation his judgment was taken away; and who shall declare his generation?  for his life is taken from the earth.
verse 34:  and the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee of whom speaketh the prophet this/  of himself or of some other man?
verse 35:  Then Philip open his mouth, and began at the same scripture and preached unto him Jesus.
verse 36:  And as they went on their way they came unto a certain water; and the eunuch said, see here is water, what doth hinder me to be baptized?
verse 37:  and Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart thou mayest.  and he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.
verse 38:  and he commanded the Chariot to stand still and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch and he baptized him.

Seekers, note Jesus was baptized, the twelve apostles were baptized, Paul the apostle was baptized.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is that you believe the truth of Gods word.  One Lord, one faith, one God.  That you must believe the message of repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  That is the only way to be born again.   Jesus said this day shall you be with me in paradise.

Luke Chapter 23 verse 39:  and one of the male factors which were hanged railed on him, saying if thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
verse 40:  but the other answering rebuked him saying, dost thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
verse 41:  and we indeed justly; for we received the reward of our deeds; but this man hath done nothing a miss.
verse 42:  and he said unto Jesus, Lord remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
verse 43:  and Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee, today shall thou be with me in paradise.

Seekers, the following scripture is the answer.

Hebrews Chapter 9 verse 16:  For where a testament is there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 
verse 17:  A testament is of force after men are dead; otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 

Note at this point Jesus was alive.

Luke 23 verse 45:  and the sun was darkened and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.  Seekers this is when the new testament began and the male factor didn't have to be baptized but today we must be baptized to fulfill all righteousness. 

Seekers warning.

Revelation Chapter 22 verse 19:  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of this prophecy of this book.  If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.  verse 19:  and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
